Shane Arsenault is a graduate from the Alberta College of Art + Design, where he obtained a Bachelor of Design majoring in Photography in 2015. Shane has exhibited in and around Calgary since 2008 including the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta. He is the recipient of the Rosalee Heibert Memorial Endowment and the Student Excellence Award from the Alberta College of Art & Design (2015), the Lamphouse Endowment for the Arts Fund - Emerging Artist Bursary in 2011 and the Rotary Club Art Competition, Canmore, Alberta in 2010. In 2015, Shane Arsenault self-published a book of Fine Art Architectural Photography titled “Facades”.
“Plane Space” focuses on the patterns of architectural facades while still providing recognition to the intimate details they reflect; in turn, provoking an exploration on how these facades interact with us, and how their forms reflect the way we live. These photographs are printed onto brushed silver aluminum which gives the images the gleam and luster of an architectural facade while increasing their physical presence beyond one dimensional imagery to actual object.
