Calgary Photo-Realist painter, Glen Semple, received his B.F.A. from the University of Calgary where he studied painting with renowned Canadian photo-realist, John Hall. Glen has been working and exhibiting in Western Canada for over 20 years and has work in major collections including the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Alberta Parks and Recreation, Alberta Research Council and the Calgary Civic Art Collection.

Glen Semple brings attention to the bits of fun lost and found in every day life. Every household has boxes, drawers, or jars of “junk”- disparate objects thrown together, perhaps overlooked- waiting to be rediscovered in child’s’ play or reclaimed for alternative uses. Glen Semple’s recent work has evolved out of his interest in these containers and their forgotten treasures, which carry with them, memories and a nostalgia for simpler times.
