Aron Hill
Aron Hill currently lives and works in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design in 2000 with a BFA in Interdisciplinary studies. He then completed his MFA at Goldsmiths College, University of London. His work there evolved into installation based projects using traditional drawing and painting methods alongside formal sculptural elements, large format photography and text based work. He has recently been focused on formalist paintings that recall aspects of minimalism and color field paintings though with references to the figure throughout. He finds conceptual company in the late Modernist paintings produced particularly in Canada. The choice of a restricted medium, acrylic ink washes on prepared raw canvas, forces restraint. The work's graphic nature relies on the sheer flatness this medium produces. Aron has exhibited internationally, occasionally lectures, and writes.

Eric Louie is a Vancouver based painter whose sculptural, organic abstracts allude to landscape, still life and even portraiture. His signature metallic, shimmering forms, achieved via many thin layers of luminescent glazes, are central to the virtual worlds he creates. Using a fan brush and tape, Eric creates folds in time and place, mini worlds inside each shape within the canvas. His most recent paintings have central openings that allude to an infinity of space and shadows in the foreground that speak of weight and mass. Through these techniques, Eric’s new saturated canvases delve into existential scenarios and exploration of virtual spaces.
Vancouver based Eric Louie was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He began taking art classes at the Winnipeg Art Gallery at the age of nine and received his B.F.A. from the Alberta College of Art + Design in 2002. He was the recipient of the Jason Laing scholarship while a student and has been in over 40 exhibitions since graduation. Eric Louie’s work is collected by many private and corporate collections including Encana Energy, CIBC, NBC Studios, Paramount, MGM Pictures as well as the City of Calgary.
